Tribute

Tribute to a Friend…

On August 20, 2008, Michael’s beloved pet Bogey (AKA “The Bogeyman”) passed away at home.

He had been slowing down with age during 2008, so Michael and his wife, Debbie, stayed home most of the time having dinner at “The Bogey Cafe” and enjoying a movie at “The Bogey Cinema”.

They are very thankful for the time they had with a pet that gave them love, affection and friendship in a manner that will be inspirational for the rest of their lives.

Bogey was born in Aspen, Colorado, and loved to listen to Michael’s music on the headphones.

He would listen to Michael practice, play and record his guitar music for hours on end.

When Michael finished recording his first CD, Bogey listened and gave his final approval!

Bogey always walked carefully around Michael’s guitar collection – he knew how important they are to Michael.

If Michael was practicing in the home studio, Bogey would bark until Michael let him in. Once inside, he would stay and listen for hours.

“Bogey will be in my heart and in my music forever,” Michael said.

On that fateful and final day, Michael sat down with Bogey and wrote a tribute song.

It’s a song to a Man’s best friend and is titled: “I’m not just your Friend, I’m your Angel”.

The lyrics to the song are presented here.

Michael plans to record the song and release it on a future CD to share Bogey’s story with all.

“I’m Not Just Your Friend… I’m Your Angel.”

I once had a friend, not a simple friend,
But one who loved, and aimed to please.

He would make me smile, not just any smile,
Not just for today, but for always. And he said

(chorus)
I’m not just your friend, I’m not just your friend,
I’m your angel.

And when the time is right, you will cross that brief divide,
I’ll rush to greet you, we wll be side by side.

I’ll have so many things, so much to show you,
Be patient, live your journey out,
Then come home to me. And he said

(chorus)

I told him how I felt, How good it felt,
I showed him one more time, what he meant to me. And he said

(chorus)
